Geotechnical project engineer at Gannett Fleming with over 10 years of professional experience. Alma has a master's degree in geotechnical engineering, and a bachelor’s degree in civil and environmental engineering (Go Bears!). Enjoys weekend hikes and time with family.

Amit S. Joshi, M.S., P.E.

Past President

Supervising Transportation Engineer at the California High-Speed Rail Authority, serving as the Project Manager for a section approximately 39 miles long.
Amit has a Master of Science degree from the University of California, Davis in Structural Engineering, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the College of Engineering Pune, India.
He is also a board member of the ASCE Structural Engineering Institute (SEI) Sustainability Committee and SEI Business Practices Committee.
Amit aspires to be a future leader in the public sector and wants to contribute towards building a sustainable transportation infrastructure in California for future generations.

Omar Lopez

President-Elect, Social Media Committee Chair

Construction Project Engineer at UNICO Engineering, Omar is responsible in ensuring that project plans and specifications are materialized in the infrastructure you see around you. Graduated from Sacramento State in 2020 and is currently working towards his P.E. He mostly manages public works projects but also puts his skills to the use when renovating his house.

Keiko Lewis, P.E.

VP Membership

I am a senior engineer at Crawford and Associates and provide geotechnical support on public works projects. My favorite projects so far have been transportation projects that involve bridge foundation design. Outside of work, I like to stay active with the Sacramento dive club and I am always up to be someone’s dive buddy. See you at the next event!

Mohammed Khalid, M.S., P.E.

VP Education

Senior Engineer (Geotechnical) with Allerion Consulting Group, Inc. Mohammed has 6 years of consulting experience in geotechnical engineering and 2 years of experience in civil engineering. Received Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from California State University Fullerton in 2019. Mohammed has been working on variety of projects including residential, commercial, industrial and public work. Enjoys traveling, hiking, going to the beach, and playing soccer.

Lauren Pitcher

Secretary

Civil Analyst with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. with 2 years of consulting experience following 4 years of construction experience. Lauren graduated from Chico State in 2018 and is currently working towards her P.E. She is looking forward to giving back to the ASCE community that helped shape her college career. Lauren enjoys weekend adventures of first home renovation and spending time with family.

Independent civil engineer and master of planning, design, construction management, and maintenance of electric utility facilities.

Retired P.E., active as a member of AASHTO technical committees. Sue has trained others in bridge design and analysis. She continues to be committed to helping others grow in their careers.

Retired General Engineer formerly with the Quality Assurance, Specifications & A-E Section of the U.S. ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS, SACRAMENTO DISTRICT, Engineering Division, Engineering Support Branch.

Brett Hoffstadt, PMP, P.E.

Technology Committee Chair

Engineer at the California Air Resources Board. Author of “Success with Drones in Civil Engineering” and co-author of "Exploring Smart Cities Activity Book for Kids." Four US patents for airport and aviation devices for energy and noise reduction. Enjoys thinking like a man of action and acting like a man of thought with his family in Folsom.
